Edinburgh 2005 Posted by Hello

Show me the Way to Amarillo! Theme tune of the weekend!

What a weekend, contender for one of the best times I've ever had and certainly eclipses the last 7 months of crap!

Saturday morning - I was picked up at 7.30 by Donaldo Aka Pooch (88) and we both then set off to Mat's aka 6-Inch (79) to collect him and Dolph aka Go go (4). The four of us then squeezed into the rented mint green Vauxhall Corsa and then made our way to Perry's aka Ut2 (69). Here we collected Chris aka Lopez (1), Paul aka Cheeky (7) and Stuart aka Girls (11). Just for the record I was G-Brow (12).

So the two cars then set off, Perry drove with me, Mat and Chris. Don drove car number 2 with Dolph, Paul and Stuart. I had made 2 CD's with requested songs from everyone, Tony Christie's Amarillo soon became the song of the weekend and was sung whether we went! After several stops and numerous sing alongs we arrived in Edinburgh at about 2.30pm! A very long way and big thanks have got to go to Don and Perry for doing all the driving.

We dropped our stuff off at Davey's house and started with a can of Tennants! From here we quickly got changed and made our way to The Standing Order. It was a JD weatherspoons pub which had been overtaken by the welsh. We watched the England game and started on the rounds. We kept the group in two lots and the beers were soon flowing! After the rugby had finished we moved onto Dr Jekyll's and Mr Hyde's. A great dungeonesque style pub with the most amazing entrance to a toilet ever! Straight from Harry Potter you have to push a bookcase to reveal the door to the gents!! I thought it was great and the amount of people who couldn't find the toilets was criminal.

After here, we jumped into a taxi and made our way to Teustchers (not sure on spelling). A few more beers in here and then the night was approaching. After this we went on The Western bar which was certainly an eye opener! When we left here we bumped into Owain who had an abosolute nightmare getting up to Scotland. He disappeared with some girls from Swansea and the lads all made it into Subway. This was a nightclub of sorts and was packed to the gills with Scottish women! I went on a mad one and pulled four different women and got two of their phone numbers!! We were drinking Metz and VK drinks cos they were keep and Mat had us drinking them bottle bong stylee! Perry said he nearly drowned! But then ended up on my own in the middle of Edinburgh, luckily Matt and Perry weren't far away and I found them in Mcdonalds. Got home after trouble getting a taxi about 1.30.

The next morning Don insisted on waking everyone up at about 7 o'clock! Dolph wasn't impressed. Anyway, with 8 people to shower and change it took a while for us all to get ready. We went and had a massive fry up in the coffee Pot and then made it back to flat so Don could put his kilt on. We then got on a bus into Edinburgh town centre again. The pubs weren't serving booze yet so we had a little scenic walk around and saw the castle and the cathedral. It was a wicked place and I have fallen in love with the city and will definitely going back.

We soon found a pub serving some alcoholic beverages and then made it back to Grass Market where we entered the Black bull. We met up with a few lads who we knew from back home and had a right laugh watching an evil drinking game. Dolph got caught up in it and had to down a pint which nearly made him barf! Don's kilt caused hilarity when I took a photo up it, but this has been deleted all evidence of the photo has been destroyed! It was still one of the funniest things ever though!!

After the black bull, we made it back to Teustchers and the beers flowed way to quickly for my liking. Pint after pint was consumed and the match got underway. Wales were awesome in the first half and the funniest chant of the day was 'Its like watching Brazil' We all laughed!! I got talking to a lovely lady called Sue who took my number for future reference and then I had the two girls from last night both texting me as well! Happy days!

We made our way to Edwards soon after and moved onto JD's and cokes! Ouch! When we left here, we tried to get a taxi back to Subway. Instead the taxi driver told us to walk as it was only round the corner!! That was well funny! When we got into Subway it was just full of welsh supporters watching a re-run of the game, but drinks were really cheap again so we didn't care. Mat tried to get everyone involved in a finger push up competition which really hurt. Owain turned up with Curly and decided to tattoo everyone with his name in Japanese! Its still on my arm as he did it with permanent marker! Katy arrived from the previous night and I spent some time with her, whilst dancing and drinking myself silly. Chris soon perked up when Dolly Parton 9 till 5 came on and his energetic dancing soon had everyone cracking up! Dolph had to go home after being sick out of his nose because Mat had got him drinking Zambuca's! Everyone else had gone again and the hardcore ones remained, me, Perry and Mat. We ended up in Mcdonalds again and had everyone singing Amarillo! Mcdonalds should of closed about 2 hours before this but they just kept serving, but had asked us not to sit down. We did!

Finally got home to find Dolph had hidden my duvet and I couldn't find it anyway. Turned out that the Turner brothers had found it and used it as a mattress! I was bloody freezing!

We again woke up early and started to pack up and get ready. After stops at Greggs and Mcdonalds for food we set off again. After about an hour I started to feel really rough and had to get out the car and spew on the side of the road. The two cars beeped their horns and found it hilarious!! Trouble was it made Chris really ill too and he had to meditate for about half an hour before we made it to the service stations!

The journey home was really hard work, but we kept singing and eventually got back just in time to drop the cars off. I made it back to the flat at about 6.30. I tried to sort some things out but didn't have the energy. Andrea was online and we had a quick chat and it turns out she's really missing me!?! Had to go and play football then with Mat, Perry and Chris. After 2 losses and a draw, we weren't expecting to win and certainly not 14-1! Mat finally scored and then scored another 5! I got 5 and Chris got 4. Awesome performance which topped off an amazing weekend! Too tired now though and sleep is really needed!

Check out the photos and thanks for a great time boys!

G-Brow number 12!

Breif history of last week!

Last week was certainly the quiet before storm. Preparations were under way for Edinburgh and work was just coasting along. Saw Hide and Seek with Robert De Niro at the cinema on Tuesday night with Becky Kennedy. We had a right laugh even though the film wasn't up to much. Caught up on all the gossip.

Wednesday was a quiet day with my late in work followed by watching The Apprentice, which is the best tv programme around at the moment.

Thursday was a wicked night. It was the SLT night out for winning Team of the year. We went to Mamma Mia's in Canton and the food was lovely. I had squid, steak and hot fudge cake. Not at the same time obviously. With about £35 pound a head, there was a lot of booze available and the wine was soon flowing. I had a great laugh with a lot of peopl who i woudln't necessarily see socially, and it made a really good change. different conversations and Karen doing Ali G style rapping when she was wrecked!!! I was a good boy after and went home instead of going to town. Turned out to be a wise choice!

Friday was Comic Relief and i was rushed of my feet in work organising a day of events!! I dressed up like a lady with a drss and bikini top which raised some extra cash and the final total looked at about over £500 so i was well chuffed. In the evening, it was Mat's birthday so i made my way round to his gaff at about 7, and then we made our way into Central bar. Perry and don both had to drive the next day so they were sensible and only had a couple. I left Lloyds bar at about 12.30 and went home to get some much needed sleep ready for the weekend ahead!

Photos of Mamma Mias are available here!

The Truth laid bare - where have I been?

Hello! It's been a while!! 2 weeks infact so I certainly will not bore you with the details of what I have been up to. I'll just pick out the highlights and also try to explain why I haven't updated!

I made a decision about a week and half ago that I didn't want to see Andrea anymore, not as a friend, not as nothing. I felt it was the best thing for my sanity and possibly everybody else that knows me! So I laid it down and told her. Great, I thought its all sorted and I've made the right decision. Last, Saturday obviously it was Rugby day again, so town beckoned.

I went to Matt's and drank, went to Perry's brothers house and drank and then went to Don's house party and drank!!! Then we went to town and performed a mini pub crawl keeping away from the Philly for as long as possible. We went to the Lava Lounge, The Yard, Bar Copa and Bar is it, then finally popped into the Philly. I walked around and then came back to the group and guess who was there talking to Don, Andrea. I kinda blanked her and just got on with it, but later on in the night we spoke and she started talking about not liking seeing me with other girls. Well, I said that is going to happen, cos we're single. The conversation continued and she ended up coming back to mine. The next morning we talked and it came down to the fact that she wasn't sure what she wanted.

My view was that she wanted all the little bits she liked but not the rest. She wanted the watching films together, and going out to the cinema, the cooches but to be honest I was starting to miss her when she wasn't around. Anyway, she text me last Wednesday and after all she'd said she decided that we shouldn't talk about getting back together. I immediately said that I didn't want to see her at all then. But, then for the last couple of days its almost as if I feel guilty for having to shut her out of my life. We used to be best friends, now we can't even have that because of the past. I've been a bit down due to this and just haven't wanted to update the blog. To be honest, I was thinking of stopping the blog as it has served its purpose?!! Will have to have a think!

Anyway, went out on Friday with new shirt and new jeans and managed to pull so my confidence is back up where it belongs and I'm well looking forward to the Scotland road trip next week. My boys have got my back always and they've tried to protect me from the Andrea situation. Hopefully, with me and her being away for the majority of weekends through March and April I wont see her for a while and I can sort my head out again!

Seen loads of films recently, Bubba Ho-Tep is seriously weird!! Coach Carter is cheesy as fuck! The Waterboy is well funny. Man on fire is ok, but a bit wishy washy. Baise-Moi is basically a hardcore porn but it had a cinematic release! Wimbledon is good and Kirsten Dunst is so fit!

Talking of fit, I am slowly becoming obsessed with Edith Bowman after seeing her on fame academy! Would love to ask her out!!! Yeah right!

Also, have about 2 to 3 pages to write and I will of finished my first ever film script. 22 thousand words!
